The old industrial areas of the former communist states are to be better supported through the future European Bauhaus programme for the regeneration of urban areas, as a result of the amendments tabled by Romania’s representative in the European Parliament and approved this month by the Committee on Culture and Education.
In the report on the new Bauhaus, the European Parliament proposes the creation of a permanent funding line, amounting to 500 million Euros and, through the amendment initiated by MEP Victor Negrescu, it calls for all Member States and partners, such as the Republic of Moldova, to have equitable access to these resources.
