The MEP who generated 100 million for education, health and the economy through his pilot projects and helped direct 10% of RRF to education will work to bring the European project towards the real needs of citizens
Quaestor Victor Negrescu, the only Romanian in the European Parliament’s Bureau, presented a summary of the main objectives realized in this mandate, that was focused on citizens and concrete mechanisms to respond to the challenges they face.
In this regard, MEP Victor Negrescu appreciated the support offered by citizens and highlighted the significant achievements obtained in the European Parliament for the future of the European Union.

Key accomplishments mentioned by Negrescu include securing €100 million through pilot projects in the fields of education, youth, the digital sector, innovation, entrepreneurship, health and economic development. These projects have funded initiatives such as the digitalization and modernization of hundreds of schools in EU member states and the development of an online platform for entrepreneurial education.
“I have obtained €100 million through pilot projects and I am the MEP with the most European money for new projects in the fields of education, health or economic development”, he stressed.
Negrescu also serves as the chief negotiator for the European Parliament on the EU budget, successfully increasing European funding for EU programmes in key fields such as Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, LIFE, NDICI.
Crucial role played by Negrescu in directing 10% of RRF to education in national budgets
He contributed to the modification of recovery and resilience plans in order for 10% of the national plans to be allocated for education, as well as amending the REPowerEU chapters in the RRFs to allow for greater flexibility in managing the energy crisis.
“I am the European Parliament’s chief negotiator on the European Union budget and in recent years I have managed to increase European funding. Another important goal achieved was to increase funding for farmers and rural areas, which I will continue in the coming years. I have also contributed to changes in the recovery and resilience plans. Today, 10% of the funds go to education in the European Union”, he explained.

Looking ahead, Negrescu emphasized clear priorities for the future, including initiatives to improve the well-being of European citizens. He highlighted the importance of raising living standards, attracting more European funds, and increasing subsidies for farmers. He will continue fighting for increased rights and equal treatment for all EU citizens, advocating for faster transfers of social rights and pensions, and pushing for European quality standards in education and healthcare.
