MEP Victor Negrescu, as Vice President of the European Parliament, chaired a series of key debates ”for whole Europe”.
”Europe needs firm decisions and applicable solutions to meet today’s challenges. We discussed concrete measures to lower energy prices, increase energy independence, the use of Russian assets and the future of agricultural policy”, he said.
During the plenary session of the European Parliament held on March 10-13, the MEP contributed to several key debates such as the Omnibus regulation or the Union of Skills.
Omnibus Regulation
In the debate on this regulation, the MEP called for a bi-directional approach to reduce bureaucracy and concretely support European entrepreneurs.
”We support simpler procedures for SMEs, easier access to public procurement. We must avoid penalizing companies that already comply with the rules, rules that change overnight, affecting investors, additional costs imposed without clear solutions”, said the MEP.
Union of Skills
The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu, has called for measures to provide real upskilling opportunities for all Europeans through the Union of Skills, putting forward a series of proposals:
- Right to training: Guaranteed access to lifelong learning and tackling access barriers.
- Education for All: A European Erasmus 2.0 plan for education and skills.
- Investing in people: targeting 20% of the EU budget on education and skills
At the proposal of the European Parliament Vice-President Victor Negrescu, responsible for relations with the Republic of Moldova, the European legislature approved the opening of a Liaison Office in Chisinau.
MEPs also adopted the €1.9 billion Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, a package improved thanks to amendments tabled by MEP Victor Negrescu.
Victor Negrescu described the March plenary session of the European Parliament as ”an intense one”, with ”major decisions concerning the future of Europe”.
