Relations with the Republic of Moldova, the fight against corruption as well as transparency policies, key responsibilities in Victor Negrescu’s portfolio as EP Vice-President

Social Democrat MEP Victor Negrescu will have a key role in the European legislature following negotiations on the portfolios of the European Parliament’s vice-presidents, concluded at the end of September. He will be responsible for coordinating the policies and actions on the fight against corruption and the European Parliament’s transparency policies.

His duties will also include managing relations with the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The MEP will also manage relations with social partners, non-security international organizations such as the World Trade Organization and the International Labour Organization, as well as the Court of Justice of the European Union.

In addition to these external responsibilities, Victor Negrescu will oversee the panel on the future of science and technology (STOA), represent the European Parliament in the European Policy and Strategy Assessment System and be a member of the Working Group on Communication, Information and Research.

MEP Victor Negrescu is the only Romanian MEP elected Vice-President of the European Parliament representing one of the three European political families (S&D) that have reached an agreement on forming a majority in the main EU institutions.
